William Budde was Tom's G-Grandfather. We know he was born somewhere in Germany about 1840 and married Louise Mazander in St. Louis, MO May 3l, 1870 by JP. No additional information. We can go forward to the family he raised in St. Clair Co. and that he left here and moved to Fort Smith Ark. His wife Louise died in Fort Smith and his two youngest children were brought back to St. Clair Co. to be raised by relatives. When they moved to Fort Smith the older children were left in St. Clair, Co. IL. He was a coal miner on census records. We have no clue as to where he came from, no sibblings, no parents ever listed on any records. Nobody knows what happened to him after Louise died. He is our mystery man. He must have left some kind of paper trail somewhere. Have talked to many family members and nobody knows anything. Some say they never heard of him. What a guy!
Genealogy of Tom and Mary (Chaput) Budde
Welcome to the Budde-Chaput Genealogy. Tom & I have worked for 20 years to gather the information that we have.. Our one big dissapointment is that we were never able to get any information on the sur Name Budde. Old G-Grandfather Budde appeared and disappeared with not a clue.
We have a site at www.genealogy.com/users/b/u/d/Mary-Ellen-Budde. We have some old pictures on this site too.
Hope to hear from new people.

Hi Mary... |

Hi Mary, I am not sure if this is anything or not but there is an Ernest Budde (1827-1891) and his wife Charlotte (1827-1931) burried right outside the Randolph County Line barely into Monroe County IL. I have a photo of the stone (newer) if you would like a copy. There used to be a German Episcopal Presbyterian Church there that burned down many years ago. In my search I ran into the nicest man that gave me the little I know and I will be posting the cemetery on Find a Grave as soon as I get the chance Best Wishes, Kim Kim |

Hi Mary,
DebbieI have come across Some Budde's in Quincy, IL and some of the death notices said they came from Germany. I have a William Budde but I dont think is your William Budde this one died about 40 years of age in 1893 putting him born in the 1950's but am thinking probably related somehow. If you would like the articles I have saved them from the newspaper online would be happy to send to you so you can see if they relate to William Budde.
