Best Tool I have purchased to help with genealogy research.

I purchased a Flash Drive from Walmart.  It is a memory stick or device  that you can story files you find online at the library or other research places. All you need is a USB port.   No need to pay for copies and it has plenty of space (8 GB) for saving files.  I just bring them home and download them to my computer.  It can be documents that I saved from a JPEG format and later I can edit the file thru my photo editor to zoom in or save only a part of the document.  I hope to get a lot of use out of it.  Better than writing things down when you are being charged by the hour to use their files.  Better than carrying a stack of papers on a windy/rainy day!

A flash drive consists of a small printed circuit board protected inside a plastic, metal or rubberised case, robust enough for carrying with no addional protection in a pocket or on a key chain, for example.  The USB connector is protected by a removable cap or by retracting into the body of the drive.  I did not want to worry about loosing the cap so I got the retractable one.

    Hope is helps you!

I use mine alot too.I copied all my genealogy files to my laptop plus Legacy.

Plus it's my backup just incase something happens....god forbid..lol.

It should be a must for any of us doing this.

Great idea using it at the library.
