My first Grandchild arrived March 3, 2009. Chance Finley Cunningham weighed 7lbs 12oz 20 1/2 inches long. He was supposed to be a girl 85% chance from tech. Boy were we suprised! Lots of pink to return but thats ok. Proud parents Paul and Anna Cunningham. Wo sind sie Geblieben?

Wo sind sie Geblieben? Where did they stay? This is a series of books by Boyken and Boyken Partners Titonka IA. It has the genealogy and history of Ostfriesen in America. I believe it has histories of some of my ancestors. I believe there are two or three books. Does anyone have access to these books? I would be most grateful if someone could do a lookup for me. I attempted to try to get these on an interlibrary loan but the librarian that I spoke to acted like it would be impossible to get these to my local library. Not sure why. Thanks, Best Wishes and Happy Digging!

Research etiquette ????

Ok I am getting about to my wits end on my Schultz brick wall. From my information I am assuming that my Schultz ancestors probably had relatives in the Humboldt, Richardson County, Nebraska area, because once they left Germany they came to Nebraska fairly directly. My question, is it appropriate or not , to obtain records of some one you suspect or guess could be a member of the family. There are other Schultz families in the area and I was hoping that maybe I could approach my brickwall that way. But being a novice began to wonder if it was appropriate to look at records(wills, probate, death certificates etc.) on a hunch, guess, or shot in the dark. Thanks, Help! Native American Research

My question, are there good records for native americans? Sac and Fox? I would really like to know what happened to her. Also on a random late night search I did find a U.S. Indian Census Schedule 1885-1940. And I found a Wm. G. Fosler (Ah-Pe-Tock Fosler) he was born abt. 1870 his mother's name was Susan Greyeyes she was 47. They belonged to the Sac and Foxes of the Miss? Agency Sac and Fox . The census date was June 30 1890. Jann Fossler lived on the Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas border. The date of birth of Wm. G. Fosler also fits when Jann would have been with his second wife. Also Jann had sons named William and George with my great-great grandmother. Maybe no connection at all who knows. Any ideas where I could look? Thanks! Best wishes,

Goodbye to a special family member

Yes my dog's name was Schultz, my maiden name. I know very little about my Schultz side of the family. My dad was one of the youngest grandchildren so he didn't know his grandparents. However one of his cousins wrote a little family history and mentioned how the Schultz's had a fantastic sense of humor. My dog Schultz lived up to this. If a dog can have a sense of humor, Schultz had one x2! Note the picture of him in the sombrero, it was taken February 2008. Rest in peace sweet friend until we meet on the rainbow bridge. Any Ideas on how or where I could crack my brick wall?

My Great-grandfather was August Carl Schultz. He was born April 29, 1856. One of the biggest brick walls that I have is where August Carl was born. Family history and obit state place of birth as Zemin, New Stettin, Pommerania, Germany. Information from the declaration of Intention to Naturalize stated place of birth as Horten/Hosten or Hoeten (it was very difficult to read) Pommern, Preusen, Germany. Death certificate says place of birth was Germany. I am not familiar with Germany's Geography so I have no idea whether this is the same town or area. August married Johanna Pauline Teske. Her place of birth is Krangen Germany. I have difficulty locating any of these on the German maps I have seen. They sailed to America leaving port in Bremen. The only information I have on who his parents were was from August's death certificate which said his father was Carl Schultz from Germany. That was a lot of help. Ha ha. Ancestry.com and other message boards haven't been helpful either. August died at Humboldt NE, which isn't too far from me. I am a novice at this so any ideas or tips would be helpful. Thanks Sad summer is over BUT................

Yes summer is over for us we brought the boat and other stuff home this last weekend, one more trip to Milford Lake in Kansas for our camper and a few other things. So I am a little sad. The weather has quickly changed here in southern Nebraska which is very unusual highs in the 60s. I am sure we will still get a few "indian summer days" yet. But..... Its officially genealogy season for me. I am really excited this fall with this site and find a grave. I have been organizing my information, got new camera and I am pumped for GENEALOGY SEASON. Also looking forward to cemetery trips, I found some awesome cemeteries on a detour to the lake. They are very old and not yet included on Find A Grave. So goodbye Summer 2008, it been fun, BUT......... I have new and very old friends and relatives to meet. Best Wishes to all this GENEALOGY SEASON,
