    Casino In Gettysburg

    Sunday, May 30, 2010, 11:45 PM [General]

In case anyone hadn't seen or heard, their trying to build a casino at Gettysburg.

This can not be allowed to happen. Hallowed ground like that was not preserved for such things.

It is to be cherished and shared for generations to come, not turned into a trash littered town.

Our relatives who fought there must be turning over in their graves as well as or fore fathers at the thought of such a terrible thing.

PLEASE check out this link nocasinogettysburg.org/ and sign the petition. Pass it to everyone you know and have them do the same.

We can not aloow this to happen.

    Again PLEASE act now

Fortunate is the genealogist who finds clear-cut evidence of ancestral parentage. When such evidence cannot be found, or is ambiguous, separate records must be sought, analyzed, compared, and reconciled to support a hypothesis. Such analysis must consider such variables as the type of record, the date it was prepared, the person who created it, and the reason for its existence--especially when the evidence is not from official files. Your Chat Hosts, Jayne McCormick and Dae Powell.

What is the most used part of any reference work? For me, it is the index. We've all seen historical reference books which lack an index. Without one, the location of information becomes tedious and time-consuming. When I think of useful indices in connection with genealogical research I always think "WPA."
