George Linn was the 4th child of Wilhelm (William) Linn and Christena Schramm-Linn. He was the 2nd boy. He was born in St. Clair County, Illinois and later moved to Jefferson County, Illinois with his family.

He married Mary Edith Reis in Jefferson County 18 Feb 1899. She died 15 Sept 1905 in Jefferson County of consumption (TB). They had no children.

George later married Zona Anne Vickers on 21 April 1906 in Jefferson County. They had 2 children, Claude and Lola. The moved to Kane, Greene County, Illinois where George spent the remainder of his life. He died December 1966.
