    My great-great grandmother was Christena E. Schramm-Linn. Here is what I know about her:

    She was born 24 March 1851.

    According the the 1900 census, which is the only census I've found her in, she was born in Illinois and her parents were born in Germany. She was in Jefferson County, Illinois at this time with her husband and 2 youngest sons.

    23 April 1865 she was confirmed at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Colombia, Monroe County, Illinois according to church records. They did not list any parents and there were no Schramm's listed in any of the church records.

    12 March 1867 She married Wilhelm (William) Linn at Fayetteville, St. Clair County, Illinois.

    I have a baptism record for their 3rd child 25 December 1874 at the Evangelical Church in Mascoutah, St. Clair County, Illinois.

    She died 18 April 1905 in Dodds Township, Jefferson County, Illinois and is buried at Arnold Cemetery in Jefferson County.

    I would like to learn who her parents were and any siblings.

    I found Christina marriage record on the Illinois Secretary of State's website at www.cyberdriveillinois.co....



    Christina SCHRAMM married Wilhelm (William) LINN on 12 March 1867 in St. Clair Co., IL.



    The record number is listed as #00002405, which is probably referring to a particular book on microfilm.

    I checked out your Ancestry site and it seems to me you have a LOT of information on your Christena and William Linn.



    BUT are you sure Christena was born in Illinois? Yes, I know, that's the information you've got, but could she be a little older?



    I found a CHRISTINA SCHRAMM, age 14 (in 1860), born in Hesse-Darmstadt, GER, living with a Barbara ROTH, age 23, occupation: farmer, in Washington Twp., Allen Co., IN; P. O.: Fort Wayne (IN).



    There's NO relationship given for this girl--so my first thought is that she's an orphan, living with another relative after the death of her parents. Or maybe she hired herself out, though there's already a domestic servant living with this particular family.



    On the other hand, I did find this:



    1850 Census, Dist. #11, Centreville, St. Clair Co., IL; E. D.: 26 Nov. 1850.



    Jacob LINN W M 35; carpenter; born GER

    Maria " W F 32; keeping house; born PA

    WILLIAM " W M 12; born PA

    Jacob " W M 7 ; born St. Clair Co.

    Elizabeth " W F 5 ; born PA

    Henry " W M 3 ; born IL

    Phillip Hildebrand 20; carpenter; born GER

    Jacob Spater 21; carpenter; born GER

    George Gighardt 24; carpenter; born GER

    CHARLOTTE LINN 67; born GER*



    *This is, I'm fairly certain, Jacob Linn's mother, still living.



    In 1860, I find William Linn living in Douglas Co., IL, in Twp. 15 N Range 8 E; P. O.: Tuscola.



    William Linn, age 28; farm hand; born PA. He's listed with a S. C. Scales family, who apparently owned a large farm in Douglas Co.
