    Hi Jean,

I suspect our Poe's are related, but I don't know how at the moment.

FROM THE SESQUICENTENNIAL FAYETTE CO BROADCASTER FAYETTE, ALABAMA SEPT 1969 PAGE 59 STATES" THE FAMILY MIGRATED FROM ANSON county N.C

ABOUT 1810 AND SETTLED IN WHAT WAS THEN TUSCALOOSA CO NEAR BERRY. JAMES POE WAS GIVEN LAND GRANTS SIGNED BY PRESIDENTS ANDREW JACKSON, MARTIN VAN BUREN, AND JAMES BUCHANNAN."

My James Poe was born 6 Dec 1797 North Carolina and married Mary McMillian (daughter of James and Nancy(Taylor)McMillian) 1819. They lived in Fayette County in the 1850 cenus with a housefull of children. James died between 1870 and 1880. Mary(McMillian)Poe was living in 1880 in Walker County, Alabama.

My great-great grandmother, their daugher, was Alcey Drucilla Poe (1832-197)who married James J. Randolph of Walker County, Alabama.

It's nice to find a "cousin" on AncestralSpace.
