Let's add another angle to the mysteries I already struggle with.  My daughter would like to try and find her cousin on her fathers side.  This would be the only cousin thru her fathers siblings so quite important to her. Odd as well, on my side she has only one cousin , I should say 1st cousin. Anyway, we know that in the mid 70's Uncle Jerry Kinnamon was living with wife Carol and dau. Sonya? in or around Billings Montana. He moved back to Fulton Co Illinois and none of the family ever saw the wife and daughter again as they stayed out in Montana. Carol Kinnamon remarried and later the daughter took the step father's name. I do not know it.  When looking in people finder, it shows Carol Kinnamon as also Carol Humphrey. This latter name could be her maiden name as he originally met her in Peoria area. Still, it could be her remarried name as well. I think Carol would be in early to mid 50's. And Sonya would be early to mid 30's. My guess would be perhaps in the Montana or Wyoming area.  Hopefully I will run across someone who knows something or the ex-inlaws will divulge some info. My dau is married with children and would enjoy an adult cousin.

    I think I got it..........

    Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 10:36 PM [General]

I have finally gotten some time to really look into this site and think I have gotten the idea. Odd how my entry into myspace was  a fast paced thing, of course it had a zillion members already and one more old gal was nothing. Now here, you really have to look around and get accustomed to how it works. Me being the non-high tech person that I am finding herself in a new but thriving envireonment was a  bit overwhelming. But.........anyone into geneology knows that you just have to push on.

When I think of the countless letters to unknown people, phone calls, emails etc, then nothing should scare me off...........lol

So, my quest............right now I did infact get a letter returned from a "Brown" who I know has to be either family or Father's army buddy. Guess that will rest awhile. THe other Browns I am struggling with are the children of the siblings of my Grandfather John Brown. I know they were raised in Aurora Illinois, and then some in Missouri, and Canada. I did manage an answer back from a cousin in Alberta CAnada, and then the next went unanswered. No idea what happened but she was very elderly.

The Weeses are not quite as elusive, but I know there are cousins down the line that could have pictures Another hope someday.

McBrides have been a positive direction haveing just found two cousins a few months ago. Perhaps that is what keeps you going.

Two days ago I found an Elam cousin as well, and not much more than a stone's throw away.

Funny isn't it, how you can go for months and nothing, zilch............and then an astonishing find!

That is what keeps me going.
