Okay, so I haven't posted in a while, but I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I've actually been really busy - genealogy-wise. Definately not house cleaning-wise. LOL So, I lost my Family Tree Maker disk and it has been bugging me to no end. I knew I had thousands of names and information and sources saved and it's all gone. But I didn't want to give up on genealogy, I just hated to have to start all over when I already knew so much about my ancestors than ever before. I had a pity party about all the info I had lost and all the ancestor pictures I had uploaded, but I knew I wanted to get back into the swing of things and be organized about my genealogy again, rather than find tidbits here and there and really no where to organize them to. I decided to create my own Family Tree Maker - on paper. Yep, you heard right. I bought 6 or 8 packets of notebook paper and started writing out - by hand - all the ancestors I could find and build my family tree that way. Let me just say, after writing the same "DOB," "DOD," "Burial," "Parents," etc. etc. etc. over and over again, I decided that wasn't the best way to go. So I decided to start a family tree at Ancestry.com. I don't know why I didn't do that sooner. I think because I was afraid that people would think I was adding too much personal information or something. Or they'd be offended that I uploaded pictures of ancestral tombstones and think that was distasteful. So I finally just got over it all and did that and haven't looked back since. Here is a link to my family tree:

To this date, I have 749 people in my family tree, 82 photos uploaded, 1 story, and 923 records attached, not including all the census records, etc. that are sourced. I think I'm making good progress. Feel free to take a peek at my family tree, email me, and tell me what you think.
