Best genealogy moment My best genealogy moment occurred in 2004. My maternal grandfather died in February of 2004, which gave me a renewed passion toward genealogy. I started doing some research and found an address for a great uncle. I wrote him a letter and within a week I received a phone call from the Bobbitt family who was just about to have a family reunion in Idaho. I was not able to travel at the time to the family reunion, but an entire family I did not know about I was able to connect with and learned so much about the Bobbitt family.
Time in history American history is my favorite period of history. I have had ancestors living in America before this country was named the United States of America. The Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, and World War II are especially interesting to me because they were surrounded with large political themes and upheavel and changed society in ways that historians are still studying.
Hobbies Genealogy (of course), reading, researching, and study history.

Welcome to my little corner of the world. A dear friend of mine referred me to AncestralSpace.com and I am so glad that he did. I have been obsessed with genealogy since I was 17 years old and my paternal grandfather died. When he died my parents brought home a bunch of scrapbooks and photo albums and all sorts of wonderful family mementoes that my grandmother, who had died a few years before, had collected throughout her life with my grandfather. Unfortunately, most of these wonderful mementoes were given to my much older cousin who was the first born granddaughter.

I have gotten to the point in my research where I would have to spend a lot of money to get records in order to keep digging and travel to cities and countries across the world in order to keep adding to the wonderful information that I have already.

I have an A.A. in genealogical studies from Akamai University and a Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies from the National Institute of Genealogical Studies. I started my own genealogy business called Climbed Your Tree Genealogy last summer; however, I am also attending school for my bachelor's of science in psychology and homeschooling my two kids which does not leave a whole lot of time to build a business.

Please email me if you would like to talk about anything. I am interested in all types of genealogy dead ends, success stories, methodology, organizational techniques, etc.
