I have been thinking all day of Gone With the Wind. Why this movie and not another some may ask?
My grandma Shute stood about five feet in her prime. By the time I came she had been a widow for 7 years and was living with my parents and had a large hump back. when my parents went out she was my caregiver.
I never remember hearing her rIse her voice and never a bad wood from her mouth. Lady is the word that fits her more than any.
My cousins Bill and Don Zapp both large men even as teens took her to see her first talking picture show. When they came out of the show she laid them out with her mouth and walked all over them with Blue Swede Shoes (so to speak) how dare they take her to see such a violent movie. It was yes Gone With the Wind.
Her uncle Alexander had had fought with the 65th NY reginment as well as her husbands uncle. She was born one year after the war ended
Another memory of Grandma is when dad first put in indoor plumming. a rat came up in the toilet bowl Grandma. went and got her shotgun and killed the rat as well as the toilet. Needless to say Dad was not happy.

Sounds like some lady. Thanks for sharing. I love the rat/toilet story!
