    Best genealogy moment My Mom gave me a duffle bag ful of old family letters that helped me identify family members. Also, When I met my Suydam family for the first time last summer, in Colorado. I felt we finally came full circle.

    Glenn W Suydam - CPL US ArmyRay Everett Suydam - Galesburg (16)  Private, Hdq. co., 123rd F. A., 33rd Div. Son of George Alvah and Lottie Suydam: born Sept 8 1891, at Oneida, ILL. Enlisted July 28, 1917: to Camp Lowden, Springfield, ILL: to Camp Logan, Texas, Sept. 1, 1917: overseas May 27, 1918: in major offensive at Meuse-Argonne and St. Mihiel: discharged June 8, 1919.

    Ray E. Suydam married Blanche Mason June 7 1923 in Galesburg, ILL., daughter of Joel Treasie Mason and Nellie Gochenour. She was born Apr. 11 1896 in LaHarpe, ILL. They had 3 children,  Nellie Louise  b. 17 Aug 1928 in Galesburg, ILL., living Suydam, & living Suydam.  Ray Everett Suydam died, 5 Jan. 1969 in Galesburg, ILL.
