Hi, good to hear from someone. Yes, I do still have family in that area. Cobbtown and Collins area. I am trying to create a tree at ancestry.com/bj77721. Since I was new at this I did not documnt as I went, so now I am going back and attempting that process. I have located a picture of Sarah Ann Jarriel on this site. She was the daughter of John "Snug" Jarriel and Mariah McDaniel if my info is correct. I am getting info that John "Snug" Jarriel (Cherokee infant) was adopted by Merici, wife of Grandsir Jarriel. I know what you mean this can be all consuming as my acestry goes in so many directions, I am struggling to stay focused in one direction.

Old "Snug" was apparently quite a character. I tell you, there are just so many stories (not to mention the stories on Mariah). OY!

I started looking around the SW GA area with the idea he may have come from there (there is one story from a very old relative that semi suggested that). Plus, since he was apparently Creek (semi) vs. Cherokee, that was an area where there were many Creeks (and many Indian attacks apparently). I did find a notation where the GA Gov. actually removed a number of families from one of the census years because they had been murdered in that area by Indians.

Since I'm researching all 4 of my "families" at once, I skip around and haven't gotten back in the last weeks to that line. I switch from thinking it's a hopeless case and poking around for more evidence.

Much of my mother's family remains in Tattnall County. Do you still have family in that area or ? :-)
