    Salem Witch Hunt

    Sunday, September 19, 2010, 4:21 PM [General]

Hello,  To all my family & friends on here. Well, I have just found out that may fathers side, was in the Salem Witch Hunt! Back in the 1600's. There was George Jacobs, His son John Jacobs, His wife Rebecca Andrews Jacobs & her Brother. Also Martha Jacobs is George's Grand daughter. Martha is the one that turned George in for being a witch!!!  George Jacobs Was hung, but His son & daugther in law & grand daughter  were not harmed. Rebecca's Brother was also not harmed. This stuff is way to cool. My name is more meaningful knowing that i have been named after both sides of the family.. I cant wait to go out to Salem Mass, to visit George's grave... Wow There is so many things, that i never knew about my family.  My mothers side is also very popular My 10th great grand mother has been on ripley's believe it or not. She has books out about her, Even a coin & flower named after her. Unreal, her name is known in New Jersey area. Penelope Stout & Richard They are the founders of Monmouth County, Middletown, New Jersey. Her story is awesome. To know someone is that strong is great. She came from the Netherlands Amsterdam, with her husband Jan Van Princin to New Amsterdam Which is now known as New Jersey or . The ship they were on became stranded so they passengers all got off. But Penelope & her husband stayed by the ship because he was very sick. The passengers all left them some food to get by till they could come back for them. There was some Indians that found them and attacked them they Killed Jan & left poor Penelope to die from her wounds. By all rights she should have. The story does not end there. Her wounds were severe, She was. Well if i tell you all about it that would not be fun for you. So you can find out your self if you wish. Just type in her name in your search engine and it will bring up her books. What she did was something. I know i did not believe anyone could do that read to find out. I had to glad i did.

    Hi Rebecca,
Thank you for the "add/friend request". I've not been on the computer much in a while, but I did want to let you know I was thinking of you.
I'm hoping this holiday weekend to get a peek at some of my genealogy stuff and see if I can get my gedcom reloaded since the virus. I'm hoping so. I will then be able to give you more information on the Rice's and what i have on the Cornwell/Cornwalls.
    Take care!

    Hi Rebecca,
As for the Cornwells, I received from a cousin a really nice history on them which goes quite a ways back. I will have to re-read it and throw some names your way.
As for the Rice's, I had a virus strike my computer. I need to pull the information off my back up discs before I can elaborate. The only thing that sticks out in my head is that at one time, they were in Oklahoma.
I look forward to writing again! And happy genealogy hunting!

I take any help I can get. I have to be honest though. I haven't really done any research on Agnes.
