I know of a large Rhodes family that settled McLean County IL very early. They where very prominent and prolific. The family may have been of Dutch origin. The McLean County Rhodes' where descended an Adam Rhodes who died in Champaign Co., OH in 1811. Previous to that they lived in MD and PA.
To my knowledge, these Rhodes' are no relation to my line.
