Found more Elder and Hammond family history

Thursday, November 20, 2008, 05:59 PM CST [General]

I have recently found some of my Elder and Hammond family in Virginia. Or at least I know they were born there.  This was a bit of a surprise, I had thought they originated from the Carolinas.  I am searching now to find which country they migrated from when coming to the USA.

    Hi Betty,

I have a First Name Unknown Barlow that is the mother of my direct ancestor Soloman Barlow Council. Soloman was born in North Carolina. -- My Ann Elizabeth Bradley is the daughter of John Bradley. Ann married Jeremiah Rhame in 1751 in Craven, South Carolina.

    Thanks for asking.

    Hi Betty,

Jenkins is in my hubbys line so I dont know as much about it as I do some. I am working on his family too but I havent gotten to this branch yet. In my brother in laws files I see Elizabeth Jenkins born abt 1805 in Kentucky. Parents Phillip Jenkins Jr. and Hannah (Abraham)Jenkins. They were Born in Pennsylvania then moved to Kentucky. Elizabeth Jenkins married Thomas L. McCarty in Kentucky then they moved to Illinois. One of Elizabeth and Thomas's daughters , Mary Jane McCarty married Charles A Brownfield, and it continues down to my hubby. Thas about all I have on Jenkins right now. Thanks for asking!

Yes basically that is what I'm asking. My dad and his siblings knew him by Kelly and also he went by the initials J.C. or C.J.The birth certificate for my dad has just initials and then my uncle said his name was Kelly Carmick Jones,so I have been unable to find anything on this man using either of these names or by the initials either one.It has been my brick wall for years.I just can't seem to be able to find anything on him.No I haven't been able to find his death record either, which should be somewhere in Texas since he died in 1928.But no one knows anything else that will help me find anything on him.
