    Help with 1930's-1940's occupation details

    Sunday, July 17, 2011, 4:38 AM [General]

I found out that my Uncle Walter Stafford was a crystal grinder, in TN, before WWII. I have been looking online to find out exactly what this job involved and the only information I have been able to find gives details of making crystals for watches. Does anyone have any other information for this occupation?

    Thanks,

    Lee

    More cousins found through Find-A-Grave

    Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 4:13 AM [General]

I have been posting information on Find-A-Grave since 2008. Every vacation I visit at least one cemetery where my ancestors are buried and take pictures so I can add them to the site. Recently I occasionally am contact by someone with additional information or corrections to names or to add full dates which are not on the tombstones.

Recently I have been contacted by two people who wanted to know if I had more information on their ancestors and how I was related to some of the people I had posted to Find-A-Grave. After corresponding with them we learned that we are cousins. Both are one generation older than I am but still cousins!

It just goes to show the more places you have your information; the better the chance you will find a living relative.

    Hi Lee
I don't know if our Lewis' are connected or not. My great grandfather was Riley Jackson Lewis and he was from Searcy County, AR. His father Benjamin and grandfather Harmon were both born in KY but that's about all I know on them. Harmon was born in 1822 in Floyd KY and died in 1900 in Morgan (county?) KY. That's one of my brick walls.
